Georgi Kornazov has been living and working in Paris for 36 years. He was born in the town of Sevlievo in Bulgaria. Georgi began playing the piano when he was 9 and at 12 he discovered the trombone. Alongside the classical studies at the Music School and the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Georgi was introduced to jazz and shortly thereafter started to play with the most prominent Bulgarian jazz musicians – Milcho Leviev, Antoni Donchev, Stoyan Yankulov, Hristo Yotsov as well as with the clarinetist Ivo Papazov – Ibryama.
At 23, Georgi Kornazov formed his first band The Dixie Jokers. Two years later, in 1995 he joined the jazz department of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance (CNSM) in Paris, studied with Francois Jeanneau, Jean – Francois Jenny Clark, Herve Sellin and Francois Theberge and graduated with a Gold medal. In 1996 he won the Best Soloist award at the Avignon Jazz Competition. From 1999 to 2014 Georgi formed 5 bands and all of them explored his musical universe by interpreting his compositions and arrangements.
“Georgi Kornazov creates a mixed universe between Bulgarian music and Western jazz, a skillful combination of irresistible melodies and contemporary means of expression” – Yves Dorisson, CULTUREJAZZ.
He has built up a serious reputation in the jazz world. Georgi has played alongside Toots Thielemans, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, Kenny Wheeler to name a few, as well as with ensembles such as Paris Jazz Big Band, The Vienna Art Orchestra, NDR Big Band.
Mila Tsankova is an excellent classically-trained violinist who is never afraid to explore new horizons in music and performs in a wide range of musical genres.
„Annick Cisaruk’s modesty as a singer gives her an enormous strength that evokes a spectrum of emotions” – Bertrand Dicale, France Musique.
“David Ventitucci creates unbelievable sounds with his accordion” – Fabienne Pascaud, Telerama.
