Jazz in the city

an event that turns the summer in Bansko into a jazz celebration! The city opens its heart to artists and music lovers, and the festival days and nights fill the squares and streets with music and good vibes in the foothills of the Pirin Mountains. This year, Bansko Jazz Festival offers its guests a rich daytime program.

Every festival day at 11:00 AM in the park, young talents will take the stage and showcase their performances. This is an opportunity to discover new and promising musicians from the new generation. Check out the program… 

During your afternoon stroll, you can enjoy jazz on the streets of Bansko by finding our “Jazz Points” starting from 6:00 PM, where participants of “Jazz Academy Bansko ’23” will surprise you with their improvisations and set the mood for the evening concerts.

Before the concerts on the main stage, we invite you to have a glass of wine at the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Chitalishte (Community Center) from 7:30 PM in the company of jazz stars and amidst the atmosphere of the new permanent exhibition “Jazz in Bulgaria”. Check out the program…

The main stage at Nikola Vaptsarov Square comes to life at 8:00 PM with concerts that offer a wide range of musical styles. Bulgarian performers and guests from the UK, USA, Italy, Kosovo, Slovenia, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Norway, France, Colombia, Ukraine, and Cuba will offer you unique musical experiences, including specially created projects and collaborations exclusively for Bansko Jazz Festival. Every festival evening from 12:00 AM, the jam session starts at Ginger Bar & Dinner – an exciting experience with the music of the midnight hour, performed by Mihail Yosifov on trumpet, Velislav Stoyanov on trombone, rhythm section Milen Kukosharov on keyboards, Daniele Fabbri on double bass, and Atanas Popov on drums.
