Virtuosity, emotional brilliance, and musical versatility – these are the main ingredients of their style. In essence, the latter harbors the charm of the Romani music – ancient, sensuous, deep, enchanting and beautiful – elegantly blended with funk and jazz.
Eva Perchemlieva studied percussion instruments at the Music School in Burgas and opera singing at the National Music Academy in Sofia. As an opera singer, she has been performing in productions of all Bulgarian opera theaters as well as in Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Romania, Switzerland etc. Presently, she teaches opera singing at the National Academy of Music. Over the years, she has been involved in various rock and jazz projects. Her many talents and unstoppable energy command the stage in an unbelievable and unforgettable way.
Angel Demirev was born in a family of musicians and has been heavily into playing the guitar ever since he was 5. He graduated from the Music School in Stara Zagora with classical guitar as his major but feels comfortable in many styles. Because of his versatility, Angel Demirev has regularly been invited to participate in numerous diverse projects and thus he was able to develop his own signature style. Angel has performed with Amine Mraihi, Stephane and Prabhu Edouard, Riccardo Gambatessa, Federico Pascucci. His unique stage presence leaves the audience breathless!
Petar Milanov graduated from the Music School for Folk Instruments and singing in Shiroka Laka specializing in tamboura. Shortly after that he joined the National Folklore Ensemble “Philip Koutev”. He is currently a part of the Folk Music Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio. Petar Milanov has gradually earned a reputation as a fine musician after many jazz and folk projects he has been a part of. The latest one is with the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices and Lisa Gerard.
Christo Minchev accomplished his studies at the Academy for Music and Dance in Plovdiv in the class of Alexander Lekov. Blues, jazz, pop – he feels comfortable performing in all these genres. He has played with some of the most prominent Bulgarian musicians – Tzvetan Nedlyalkov, Vesselin Koychev, Vassil Petrov, Petar Salchev, Blues Traffic and Vili Kavaldjiev, Miroslav Turiiski trio and so on. Today, he teaches bass guitar and double bass at Paisii Hilendarski University in Plovdiv.
Kiril Dobrev has created music for many movies, theatrical and musical projects. He won the Askeer award for original music and went on to compose the award-winning original soundtrack of the movie Sneakers – the Bulgarian entry for Oscars previously. With his band Fake he was an opening act for Prodigy and with Bulgara he shared the stage with Al di Meola, Human Touch, David Garfield, and The Cats. Kiril is a member of the European Film Academy. Natural born leader, he is the mastermind behind Cinga Manga Funk.
