Photography Contest “Jazz Moments – Bansko”

Inspired by the large community of photography enthusiasts from different nationalities who document the Bansko Jazz Festival every year and share content through their own channels, we are organizing an international photography contest.

Participants will have the opportunity to submit original photographs from the festival, capturing its atmosphere, emotions, musicians, and audience. Selected photographs will be included in a special open-air exhibition in the park during the festival, accessible to all visitors.

The winners will be determined through combined voting by both the audience and a professional jury, including representatives of the Association of Professional Photographers.

The initiative aims to engage the audience, expand the festival’s international visual presence, and encourage creative exchange between amateurs and professionals.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

• Participants may submit original photographs taken during the Bansko Jazz Festival from its founding through 2025 inclusive.
• Print format: A4 (portrait or landscape).
• Categories:
  - Professional Photography (camera)
  - Mobile/Digital Photography (electronic devices)
  - Maximum number of photographs: 15

Technical Requirements for the Photographs

• Photos must be high resolution, minimum 3000 pixels on the long side, preferably 300 dpi.
• Accepted file formats: JPEG or TIFF.
• Files must be prepared for A4 printing (portrait or landscape) without loss of quality.
• Images must not contain watermarks, borders, or text overlays. Edited photographs are allowed, while preserving authenticity is encouraged.

Photo submission deadline: June 15, 2026

Copyright

• Participants declare that they are the authors of the submitted photographs.
• Participants grant the festival the right to use the photographs for non-commercial promotional purposes with proper author credit.

Jury and Awards

• Professional jury including a representative of the Association of Professional Photographers.
• Combined voting by jury and audience.
• Awards in each category, plus an Audience Award.

Exhibition

• Selected photographs will be exhibited in the park during the festival.
• Finalists will be announced during the festival.
