The Path is a musical project inspired by life’s journey—with its choices, detours, encounters and unexpected directions. As a symbol of movement and transformation, it brings together the original music of pianist and composer Sabin Todorov and the captivating voice of Emilia Kirova in a deeply personal and emotional artistic statement.
Born in Burgas, educated at the National Academy of Music in Sofia, and active internationally for many years, Emilia Kirova and Sabin Todorov now live and work in Belgium while maintaining a strong connection to Bulgarian culture and music. Their shared artistic vision naturally finds expression in this project, created around texts by Bulgarian authors.
The music of The Path combines elements of American jazz and blues, Brazilian bossa nova and Bulgarian folklore, transformed into a contemporary and highly distinctive sound. The compositions and arrangements are by Sabin Todorov, while Emilia Kirova’s voice and violin bring emotional depth and character to the project.
Joining them are three musicians who have played an important role in the story of Bulgarian jazz: Veselin Veselinov-Eko (double bass), Stoyan Yankoulov-Stundzhi (drums and percussion) and Rosen Zahariev-Roko (trumpet). Their artistry and experience add further richness and dimension to this inspiring musical journey.
The Path is a meeting point between jazz, poetry and personal stories—a project that invites audiences to travel alongside the musicians on a beautiful journey of discovery.
