Jason Miles is a producer, keyboardist, composer, arranger, and winner of several Grammy Awards. With his vast talents and impressive musicianship, Jason Miles has contributed to the success of countless superstars such as Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Grover Washington Jr, The Crusaders, Sting and many more. His groundbreaking synthesizer programming on Miles Davis’ TuTu album contributed to the album winning a Grammy in 1986. Jason Miles worked with Luther Vandross, including on his Grammy-winning hits. Miles won a Grammy as Sting’s producer (he won Best Male Pop Vocalist in 2000 for She Walks This Earth). “Jason Miles has raised the level of excellence of the musicians who have had the good fortune to work with him, myself included. His work with Miles Davis and Marcus Miller defines the modern face of jazz music,” Roberta Flack says of him. In 2023 Jason Miles moved from New York to Lisbon. Thanks to the help of friends and contacts, he was able to immediately set out to find the best musicians in Portugal to create a new and fresh sound. The Lisbon Electric 4Tet is the result of Jason Miles’ musical encounter with three of Portugal’s finest musicians; Vicky Marques – drums, Yami Aloelela – bass, Tiago Oliveira – guitar. Together they create an exceptional “Lisbon blend”, incorporating the New York atmosphere that Jason brings with him, combining jazz and funk with deep groove.
