In this special duo project, the Bulgarian-American guitarist and the celebrated Bulgarian pianist create music that transcends stylistic, cultural and geographical boundaries.
Drawing inspiration from the places, cultures and life experiences that have shaped their artistic journeys, the two musicians build a rich sonic landscape where contemporary jazz, classical music, folk influences and free improvisation intertwine. Named by DownBeat magazine as a “Rising Star on Guitar,” Hristo Vitchev has established himself as a unique presence on the international jazz scene. Born in Bulgaria and based in San Francisco, he has released ten critically acclaimed albums and performed extensively around the world.
Zhivko Petrov has played a defining role in the development of contemporary Bulgarian jazz. Through his work with JP3 and numerous projects as a composer, arranger and pianist, he has left a lasting mark on both the jazz and contemporary music scenes in Bulgaria.
