ANTONI DONCHEV ALL STAR BIG BAND

Bansko Jazz Festival 2026 pays tribute to one of Bulgaria’s most distinguished composers, pianists and arrangers, Lyubomir Denev, on the occasion of his 75th anniversary.
Under the baton of Antoni Donchev, a specially assembled All Star Big Band will perform a selection of Denev’s most emblematic works, revealing the richness of his musical universe—from virtuosic orchestral compositions to jazz miniatures marked by his characteristic elegance, wit and unmistakable melodic imagination.
The audience will enjoy both original compositions by Lyubomir Denev and beloved jazz standards, alongside special vocal interpretations created especially for this celebratory occasion.
This concert is an encounter with the work of a musician who has left a lasting mark on the history of Bulgarian jazz and contemporary music—a tribute filled with gratitude, inspiration and outstanding artistry.
