Amit Friedman Quartet

Israel

Amit Friedman is a saxophonist, composer and bandleader with a distinctive musical voice, where the jazz tradition meets lyricism, a contemporary sound and a strong melodic sensibility. His style is rooted in the language of bebop and modern modal jazz, while remaining personal, warm and immediately engaging.

As a performer and composer, Friedman is an active presence on the international scene. He is the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Jazz Composers, has released three original albums to excellent reviews, and is currently working on his fourth project. Over the years, he has collaborated with musicians such as Peter Bernstein, Avishai Cohen, Joel Frahm, Grant Stewart, Emanuele Cisi, Amos Hoffman and Danny Grissett, while his performance highlights include Blue Note Dresden, B-Flat Berlin, Unterfahrt Munich, the Red Sea Jazz Festival and Bratislava Jazz Days.

At Bansko Jazz Festival, Amit Friedman presents his quartet featuring Amit Friedman on tenor saxophone, Guy Moskovich on piano, Alon Near on double bass and Yonatan Rosen on drums. The group is built on refined ensemble interaction, improvisational freedom and expressive original music. Their concert offers contemporary jazz with emotional depth, elegance and an energy that speaks directly to the audience.
